Yu Chen and colleagues at the E-Ink Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts announced the discovery of a super thin material that is as thick as three human hairs. It can be bent and rolled with no damage.

Using electronic charges, it can be used to display electronic text like a newspaper. The black or white "ink" used is millions of tiny capsules of charge-sensitive pigment. A negative charge causes the white particles to move to the surface, while a positive charge activates the black ones, creating the text and background.
