While in the British army in India in 1868, Col. James Churchward discovered a set of stone tablets in a vault. A Hindu priest explained that they told the 'fable' of a great People, lost long ago. At Churchward's insistence and steady cash flow, the priest helped him decipher the stones and filled in the details of the lost civilization of Mu, which had vanished into the Pacific 25,000 years earlier. Churchward spent the last 50 years of his life searching for more knowledge of Mu and was the influence of everyone who continued to believe in in the existence of Mu.

Were the tablets an actual historical record or just a Priest's business-opportunity via fairy tale that Churchward too too seriously?
